The second model of electric bass created by Leo Fender, this Jazz Bass has all of the rich mid range tones that made it such an immediate hit with some of the greatest musicians of rock. The guitar has a celebrated history and this beauty ticks all the boxes dating from a time when The White Album was released and, amazing to think, from the year when John Paul Jones joined with his session musician colleague Jimmy Page to form Led Zeppelin.
She has had a professional refinish and there is some fret wear. All the hardware and the pickups are original. She is missing the bridge and pickup covers. The pots both date to 1965.
This is an original and iconic Fender Jazz Bass and is incredibly easy to play. This is a vintage instrument which delivers a wonderful period sound. She has a few imperfections and dings as you can see. There is play wear to the back of the neck which we have shown and there are one or two minor imperfections and grazes as you would expect from a working instrument that is 50 years old. But, as you can see from the images, she is in remarkably good condition and plays beautifully. The sound is wonderful and she is a joy.
The guitar comes with a contemporary Hiscox hard case. This gorgeous classic has been painstakingly set up ready for sale by guitar guru Simon Bamber in Bristol.
